On Sunday, Graham administered a blessing and gave Anna her name on the records of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. (For those who would like to know the difference between a blessing and a christening, click here.) She did wonderfully during the blessing - not making a peep. Hopefully this is an indication of her demeanor as she gets older. (Ellen cried the whole time when she was a baby and look what I got!) We asked three of our friends to perform the blessing. It was short, sweet, and sincere. I am grateful that my wonderful husband qualifies to perform this ordinance for our children.
Anna was blessed:
- to have the Spirit of God with her always
- to find reassurance, strength, and bring peace to her family
- to learn from the experiences of her brothers and sister. (Note the pluralization! ACK!)
- to be a good example of patience and empathy to those around her
- to have a strong testimony and to return to her Father in Heaven as she lives according to faith
