Anna at 3 Months

Oh my heck, isn't she the cutest thing?! Like a little doll. She really is a sweet little baby. In so many ways, she is just like Sam was (which isn't all good, but he has turned into the coolest kid, so the difficulty has been worth it). She is ALERT - meaning she is not a cuddler. She prefers to be held facing out, on my hip, so she can see everything going on around her. Unfortunately, she thinks she will miss something by looking away, so she doesn't stop even when she is too tired. I have to be very attentive to her cues, otherwise she gets overstimulated and is difficult to put down for naps. She has amazing control over her body and holds her head up so well, can roll over from front to back, and if she is angry enough, can scoot around in little circles.

This face is an easy one to get. She loves to smile. What a pretty little girl. She is still a tiny little thing - at this point, she might be 9 pounds. She is also a great sleeper once she is down. We have the occasional rough night (Pepsi was necessary today), but in general, we put her down at 8ish, dreamfeed (I stole this word from Maren) her at 11pm, and she is out until 6:30 or 7, right when I get up in the mornings. She takes a good, solid morning nap for about 2-3 hours, and then catnaps throughout the afternoon.

Just in the last few days, she has started to mellow out, not needing to be held constantly. Funnily enough, her favorite spot is propped up in Ellen's beanbag, so I guess I will need to make another one sooner than I thought. We are looking forward to the milestones that lay ahead, but for now, we are just so happy to have another sweet baby girl Robinson in the home.

An update on nursing: In general, I suck at it. However, we have decided that we are not going to stress about it any longer and we are at half-and-half. I nurse as often as I can (schedules permitting) and I use formula the other times. She is happier, I am happier, and no more tears are being shed over my inability to rock the nursing thing.

What a sweetheart. Even though I only new Sam as a baby for a few months, she totally reminds me of him.

How fun to catch up with you and your cute family. Sounds as if life might be kind of fast in the slow lane. Love you!
